John Gomi
AKA John Lohse - Musician, Artist, Designer, D.J. &
self-proclaimed "Art Fag" has been playing other people's music as well as
making his own since the late-80's. John Gomi is musically influenced by
everything from dub, classic country, new wave, industrial, acid house,
and new beat. Traveling the world, John Gomi is still constantly
"searching for the perfect beat." Maintaining a residence in Austin since
the early 90's, John Gomi has been a part of just about every incarnation
of the Austin electronic dance scene. John Gomi founded Monk The Ensemble,
Austin's first band to feature a DJ along side live musicians, the group
featured Rudy Eccles on Bass and Rev. Pain Hernandez on Saxophone. John
Gomi has also played with groups as diverse as Japanese noise band, Space
Kings of Carnival, from Osaka, to Andy Hughes from the Orb in San
Francisco. Gomi's latest outfit is "a live electro rock dance improv project" called City Of Hungry Ghosts and he recently founded the Austin record label, Gomi Heart Electric, specializing in "electro house, techno, pop, crunk punk and 3am dance parties".
